Get Involved

Join A Campus-Wide Committee
 
Most important university decisions are made by campus-wide committees.
 
Joining a committee provides you with an opportunity to interact with faculty, administration, and other students on issues dealing with education, research, funding, and more. To apply for a position on a 2006-2007 committee:
  1. View the list of Open Committees (coming soon) and decide which committees interest you.
    A comprehensive list of All Campus-Wide Committees is available for reference.
     
  2. Fill out the GRADUATE application form. You can do this in three ways:
    Online: Fill out the online form and click to submit. Remember to include your resume before submitting.
     
    By Email: Download and complete the application form (html | word | pdf). Email to committees@ga.berkeley.edu. Be sure to attach a copy of your resume to the email.
     
    By Mail: Print out and complete the application form (html | word | pdf). Attach a copy of your resume to the completed application and mail to:
     
    The Graduate Assembly
    Office of Academic Affairs
    Anthony Hall #4500
    Berkeley, CA 94720-5400
  3. Await contact from the Office of Academic Affairs. After receipt of your application, we will email you to schedule your interview time. All applicants will be interviewed. If you do not hear from the GA within two weeks, please contact committees@ga.berkeley.edu.
Join A System-Wide Committee
 
To apply for a position on a UC system-wide committee (working on issues that affect all 9 UC campuses), read these instructions and details.
 
 
Help Plan An Event
 
The Academic Affairs Office sponsors a number of exciting one-time and ongoing intellectual & social events.
 
If you have a great idea for a lecture or discussion topic — or if you'd just like to get involved in leading up one of our planned events— email committees@ga.berkeley.edu.
